Evelyn looked over at Serena. She was sitting on Uncle Bud's lap. The two girls were waiting as patiently as possible for their parents to arrive at the airport. Uncle AJ had called and said the two were hurt, but not too bad. She knew he meant they could have been worse off.

"Rena, look!" Evie ordered, pointing at the plane that was parking at the terminal. Serena jumped down from Bud's lap. "We can't go rushing, Mommy and Daddy are hurt, remember?"

Serena nodded and stood next to Evelyn, holding her hand. "Will they remember us?" she asked.

"Of course, silly! They've only been gone three days."

Waiting five more minutes almost proved to be difficult for Serena, until Evelyn spotted them. She smiled and looked down at Serena. "Give Mommy a hug, but not too tight," Evelyn whispered.

"Mommy!" Serena cried.

"Hey, baby," Mac replied, lifting Serena into her arms. It hurt a bit, but she didn't care.

Harm wobbled behind her, having to rely on crutches. "Hi, Daddy!"

"You are a sight for sore eyes, Rena," Harm said with a smile. Evelyn rushed over to him, careful not to knock him over. "Hey, Evie."

"Daddy, are you two going to be all right?"

Harm and Mac looked at one another. "I think we're going to be fine."

"All right, calm down girls!"

"Uncle AJ!" they squealed.

He smiled. "Lets get your parents home so they can see your sisters and get some rest, okay?"

"Good idea!" Serena replied. "Uncle AJ, you're so smart!"

"Finally, a woman who knows what she's talking about!"

Mac laid Trisha in her crib then glanced over at Christiana. The girls were finally asleep. She felt a tear escape. "Damn it!" she cried in a whisper.

Why was her family always a target? What had they done to deserve it? Even those characters on the military show she watched every once in awhile didn't get into that much trouble!

"They have no idea how close they came to losing me... and Harm."

"Mac, what are you doing?" Harm whispered. "Come to bed."

She walked over and put her arms around him.  "Harm they've come so close to losing us!"

"I know, honey.  We should really stop making enemies."  She laughed.  "Come to bed, we'll talk to the girls in the morning, explain to them as best we can what happened."

She shook her head. "I don't think we should."

"We can't shield all the bad things from them, Mac," Harm replied.  "As much as we want to, we can't.  Besides, I don't want them to learn it from a stranger or the news."

"You're right, I'm sorry," she said.  "Have I told you how much I love you, Harm?"

"Everyday, Sarah, and I love you just as much!"
