Since Harm wasn't saying anything, Bud took the phone from him while Sturgis tried to get his attention. "Harm, you okay?" "What!" Harm growled. Sturgis took a step back. "I'm sorry. I need to get to Sydney." "Harm, what happened?" "He has her." Sturgis took a breath. "Mac?" Harm nodded. "You get some things together. I'll get you a flight." He looked at Harriet. "Will you be able to stay with the girls, Harriet?" "Of course," she replied. "Thanks, Harriet," Harm whispered, going upstairs. As soon as Harm was upstairs, Bud walked over to them. "Webb says Mic is the one they've been after. He set this whole thing up just to get her." "My God..." Harriet said. "I better make sure the girls are okay." "When will this end?" Sturgis asked. "I'm going with Harm. Can you get him to the airport? I need to pack." "Yes, Sir," Bud replied. "Are you going to call the Admiral?" "I suppose I will." Bud nodded. "See you at the airport, Sir." ***************** Mac woke up on an old, rotting mattress. She looked around, wondering where she was. "I must have fallen asleep." "Hello, Love." Mac glared at him. "I told you not to call me that! What the hell do you hope to accomplish, Mic?" "I want to prove to Harm, Jr that you don't love him," Brumby replied. "That you have and and always will love me." "And how are you going to do that?" Mac asked. "You can't exactly win me over with my hands tied behind my back!" She was fed up with this. She just wanted to go home and curl up next to Harm in their bed... never getting out a gain. She was going to have a few words with Webb too. Brumby pulled out a knife. "Oh, I have my ways. He should be arriving in Sydney tomorrow evening." He leaned over her. "First, we need to take some pictures of the damsel in distress. A few cuts here and there..." "Mic, please don't!" Mac hated to beg like that, it was crazy. But, then again, this whole situation was! Brumby slashed Mac's arm then made another one across her stomach. She cried out in pain as the blood oozed out. "Now, Sarah, I will not hesitate to jam this knife into you if you do something stupid, is that clear?" "Y-yes," she gasped out. The slash to her stomach was already more than just a slash... and she didn't have an hand free to stop the bleeding. Brumby grinned, then left her alone. "Oh God, Harm..." she whispered as she lost consciousness. *************** Webb didn't expect Harm to come alone, he just didn't think Sturgis AND the Admiral would be with him. *I'm dead...* "Harm, I know you're never going to forgive me for this, but let's save the ass kicking until after Mac is safe." Harm nodded. "At least you know what I'm going to do to you." Admiral Chegwidden would usually intervene, but he loved watching Webb sweat. Besides, the man deserved it. "How come no one realized that Brumby was the one behind this?" "In all honesty, AJ," Webb replied, "I have no idea." He looked at Harm. "He should be calling soon." Sturgis remained quiet as the four sat and waited. Harm was ready to burst. He decided they needed something. "Why don't I get us some coffee and some food?" "Good idea," Chegwidden said. "It's on Webb." Webb glanced up from his paper work and sighed. It would be a long time before he lived this one done... and it was his fault. |
