Title: Trick-Or-Treat Rating: G Spoilers: None Summary: Harm and Mac take their children trick-or-treating while Evie gets ready for her first Halloween party. "When can we go out?" Nicholas whined. "I want candy!" Mac smiled and shook her head. "Sweetheart, you still have an hour." "Mooooom! Will you get Rena out of here, I'm trying to get ready for the party!" Evelyn shouted from upstairs. "Evie, quit yelling or you're not going to the party!" Mac yelled back. Harm tapped her on the shoulder, making her jump. "Sorry," he said, grinning sheepishly. "You still jittery from our trip to Brookside Manor?" "Please don't mention those two words ever again!" Mac groaned. "Mom, help us with our costumes!" Christiana said, running down the stairs. "Mine has a rip in it and Trisha's is too long!" Mac glanced at Harm. "Don't look at me, you're the one who decided you could make costumes instead of buying them." "Well," Mac said crossing her arms, "they came out pretty good. Go on up, Christiana, I'll be there in a minute. Harm, do you think you can help Nicholas into his costume?" Harm nodded and looked at his son. "What do you say we get you ready for trick-or-treat, Sport?" "Sounds like a plan!" "Where'd you hear that?" Harm asked with a laugh. "Rena, she says it all the time." ************** Twenty minutes and and two sewn costumes later, the Rabb family was ready for Halloween. Harm was handing each child a pillowcase to fill with candy when Evelyn came down. Now normally, Harm would kiss his oldest daughter on the cheek and send her out to have fun, but tonight was another story. Evelyn was wearing a witch costume... with a very short and tight mini skirt and cut off shirt. "Evelyn Rose Rabb, what the hell is that?" "A costume," she replied. "Mom helped me put it together." Harm glared at Mac, who was coming down the stairs. "What?" she asked innocently. "Was the store out of her size? Everything is too small on her." "There's nothing wrong with it, I think she looks great," Mac said with a shrug. "Great? Mac, she looks ready to work a street corner!" "Harm!" The look Evelyn gave her father was enough to break anyone's heart. He could tell she had her heart set on this costume. He knew he was doing it again, being the overprotective father. Harm couldn't help it. With what happened to Evelyn on her first date wouldn't leave his mind and then there were the countless people who have tried to kill him and his family. He sighed. "I'm sorry, honey, you can go in that." Evelyn squealed and hugged Harm. "Thank you so much, Dad!" Harm just rolled his eyes. |
