| Webb watched the man walk over to him. "Is it done?" he asked. "A bullet right in the heart. Never saw it coming," the man replied. "Forgive me, but..." Webb pulled at the man's face. "Damn it, Webb!" he yelled, rubbing his cheek. Webb laughed. "Well, at least I know it's you and not Palmer. This is very important to me, David. Palmer had to be eliminated before he kills or hurts anymore people." "Especially the Rabb's." David nodded. "Why did Palmer want revenge against them?" "It all started with Harm getting him arrested. They guy went psycho and decided to get back at him. Shot Harm's second partner, held Harm hostage while he impersonated him. You name it, he's probably done it." David shook his head. "Some people are nuts!" ***************** "Harm, did you hear Webb? Palmer is dead!" Mac said. "I want to see him. I want to be there when they get his dental records," Harm replied. "I want to know that this is really him!" Mac sighed. "He's finally out of our lives, honey." "I need to know, Sarah. I need to know that he's not going to be able to hurt us again." Webb spoke up. "I'm headed there now, Harm." "Lets go." Mac sighed, watching her husband get into the car. She knew he was right, but she couldn't think about him still being out there. He just had to be dead. "Mommy," Evelyn said, coming into the living room. "Will you and Daddy watch a movie with us?" She looked around. "Where's Uncle Clay?" "He and Daddy went to check something out," Mac replied. "Are Christiana and Trisha asleep?" Evelyn nodded. "Yeah, I just stood next to the crib and watched them fall asleep. They're so pretty!" "They are, just like you and Rena," Mac said, hugging Evelyn. "Now, what movie are we watching?" "I let Rena pick, but I think that was a bad idea." "Why's that?" Mac asked. The two laughed as Serena danced around the room. "Mommy! Evie! Come watch Sailor Moon with me!" Evelyn smiled. "She picked that cause Sailor Moon's name is Serena." "That's right! I'm Sailor Moon!" Serena spun. "Wheeee!" Mac picked her up and the three girls sat on the couch to enjoy some time together. "Mommy," Serena said. Mac looked down at her. "Are we going to be all right?" "We're going to be just fine, sweetheart," Harm replied, coming into the living room. "That was fast, Daddy," Evelyn noted. He held an envelope in his hands. "What's that?" "Dental records." Mac looked him in the eyes and sighed in relief. They were free of Palmer forever! |
