"Who are you?"  Evelyn asked.

"Loren Singer," the woman replied.  "Remember me?"

Evelyn glared at Loren.  "How could I forget?  You kidnapped my sister
then tried to kill my dad."

"Yeah, well your dad deserved it!!" Loren screamed at her.  She pulled
out a gun.  "And so do you!"

Evelyn watched in horror as Loren pulled the trigger.  She screamed,
sitting up in her bed.

"Evie!" Mac cried, rushing into her daughter's room.  "Evie?"

She looked up at her mom, tears streaming down her face.  Mac
immediately sat next to her and wrapped her arms around her.  "Mommy, it
was horrible!"

"Shh... it's okay, Evie.  You're safe now."  When Evelyn calmed down
somewhat, Mac asked if she wanted to talk about it.

"Remember that person who kidnapped Rena?"

Mac's heart skipped a beat.  Singer again!  What was going on here?
"Yeah..."

"She tried to kill me."

"You know that your father and I will never let anything happen to any
of you, right?"  Evelyn nodded.  "Are you ready to try and get some
sleep?"

"Mom... can I sleep with you tonight?"

Mac couldn't say no to her daughter's pleading eyes.  They were just
like Harm's.  "Come on."

The next morning, Harm headed straight for Sturgis' office.  "I have to
tell you something," he said.

"What could you possibly have to tell me that would be of interest?"
Sturgis replied.  He sat back in chair and crossed his arms.

"I'm not cheating on Mac."

He laughed.  "And I'm supposed believe you after the way you've been
acting!"

Harm took a deep breath.  "Sturgis, will you just listen to me for five
minutes!"

"Fine, Harm.  Five minutes."  He explained the e-mail and how they had
received it.  Mac's thoughts on it, his own, Evie's and Rena's.  "Mac
trusts you, doesn't she?"

Harm nodded.  "Yeah.  I thought you would have too."

"I do, Harm.  You just didn't say you weren't cheating on you, so..."

"We 'separated' so whoever was doing this would appear, but I can't
stand to be apart from them for so long.  It gets really lonely in that
hotel."

Sturgis looked at the man in front of him.  His friend had changed a
lot since they were in the academy together.  "Harm, I'll help you in
any way I can.  We'll catch the person or persons responsible."

Harm was going to say more when he noticed that Sturgis was looking
behind him, into the bullpen.  "What?"

"That woman you talked to the other day.  She's here again.  How well
do you know her?"

Harm turned around.  "You mean, Meg? I told you, Sturgis, we were
partners a few years before..." He trailed off, seeing where his friend
was going with this.  "No way!  Meg is not like that at all!  Someone
would have to force her."

Force her.

"Excuse me!" he exclaimed, running out the door.
