Mac reread the e-mail a few more times, before she got up from her
computer.  It couldn't be true!  It couldn't!  But why would someone lie
to her about that?  More importantly, would Harm do something like
that?

"Mac, I'm going to pick up Christiana and Trisha.  Do you need anything
from the store?"

"Huh?  Did you say something, Harm?"

He smiled and took her in his arms.  "Are you zoning out on me,
Marine?"  He bent down to kiss her, but she turned her head so that he
ended up kissing her cheek.  Harm looked at her in confusion.  "Is
somthing wrong?"

"No," she replied.  "Go get the girls, you know how they hate
waiting."

Harm was still confused.  "All right, I'll be back soon."

After he left, Mac took a deep breath and went for the phone.  She
burst into tears as soon as Harriet answered the phone.  "Harriet, are
you busy right now?"

**************

She shakily handed the printed e-mail to her friend.  Harriet's eyes
widened.  "This can't be true, Sarah!"

"I just don't anymore, Harriet."

"Do you trust him?"

"What?"

Harriet sighed.  "It's a simple question.  Do you trust Harm or not?"

"With all my heart," Mac replied.

Harriet handed the paper back to Mac.  "Then you know what to do with
this."

She stared at the e-mail again.  Harriet was right.  Even though she
trusted Harm, she'd have to bring this e-mail up with him.  Maybe it was
from an ex-girlfriend.  God knows he had plenty of those!

"Thank you, Harriet."

***************

Christiana and Trisha ran inside, ready to show the moves they learned
in class to their mom.  "Where's mom?" Trisha asked Evelyn.

"In her room, but I wouldn't go up there if I were you," she replied.
"Mom's upset about something."

Harm entered the house.  "What happened?"

Evelyn shrugged.  "I don't know.  I think you should talk to her,
though."

"All right.  Evie, could you and Rena get the little ones ready for
bed?"

"Sure."

"Thanks, honey," Harm replied, heading upstairs.

Harm knocked on the door.  "Come in," Mac said.  Her voice sounded
muffled.  He found her lying on the bed, her face in a pillow.  She sat
up when she felt him sit next to her. "Harm, is this true?"

"Mac?"  He took in her appearance. Her eyes were red and puffy, hair
tousled.  Mac was holding in her tears now as she handed him the piece
of paper.

The color drained from Harm's face.  "What the hell!  Who sent this?
Mac, please believe me when I say this isn't true!  Don't you trust
me!"

"Why would someone lie about that?"

"I don't know!" Harm cried, standing up.  "I would never cheat on you,
Sarah!  I love you so much!  You gave me everything I have ever wanted
and more!"

Mac nodded slowly.  "It's just that when I saw that e-mail... I didn't
know what to think."

Harm sat beside his wife again.  He lifted her chin and looked into her
eyes.  "Sarah, I love you and only you!"

"I love you too, Harm.  I'm sorry I doubted you."

"What do you say we have Bud try to trace down that e-mail?" he said
with a smile.

Mac nodded.  "And whoever sent it is going to get a good ass whipping
from me."

"That's my Marine," Harm said with a laugh, kissing her deeply.
