Mac angrily headed towards the Manor. A few minutes later, she stopped, half expecting Harm to be right behind her. She scanned the garden and found him... on the ground? "Harm!" she exclaimed, rushing over to him. He looked completely out of it. "Harm, can you hear me?" All Harm could see was a man, around his age, wearing a Naval uniform. "I never knew why she killed me," he was saying. "It doesn't matter now, though. I still love her. I always have." "How are you here?" "I don't know," the man replied. "I guess my spirit won't leave this place until I've forgiven her. The problem is, I can't find her anywhere. Do you know where she is?" Harm stared at the man. "Who are you?" "Lieutenant Michael Johanson. My wife's name is Marissa. Tell me, have you seen her?" "I haven't, but my wife has." He shook his head as if to clear it. "You with me, Harm?" "Mac?" Harm said as she helped him up. "Mac, you only saw Marissa in our room, right?" She gave him a wry smile. "Marissa? I thought she was a ghost." "Stop it and answer the question!" Ignoring his outburst, she nodded. "Yeah, Harm, why?" "I think we need to bring her husband to the room," he explained. "That's who I was 'conversing' with." Mac nodded. "So you think that if we can get Michael to the room, they could talk things out?" "That's what I'm thinking. Go upstairs and see if you can, I don't know, channel Marissa." "We sound like Bud." Harm smiled. "I won't tell him, if you won't." ************** An hour later, Harm met Mac in their room. "Any luck?" "None at all," Mac replied. "I'm beginning to think this is all going to our heads. Maybe we should just leave?" Harm nodded. "I don't know what to think anymore. Why don't we lay down and try to figure this out?" Never one to refuse lying in bed and holding her husband, Mac smiled and took his hand. As soon as they laid down, both pillows vanished. "Harm..." "Is she hear?" Mac closed her eyes. "Yeah." When she opened them, Marissa was standing in front of her. "I'm sorry that I didn't come sooner, Sarah," Marissa said. "Have you found Michael?" "Actually, he found Harm. How can we help the two of you?" Marissa hesitated. "What?" Mac asked. "You have to let yourselves be posessed by us so we can reply our final moments together. In other words..." "In other words, I have to kill Harm." |
