Title: It's Happening Again Rating: PG-13 Spoilers: None Summary: Just what the title says! Some people know that a good thing can't last forever. It had been two years since anyone threaten the lives of Harm and Sarah Rabb and their children. Two years too long according to this woman. She knew she would be the one to drive the family apart. Her plan was going to work. Former Lieutenant Loren Singer watched the family in disgust. Four girls, and according to Lieutenant Sims, a fifth child on the way. Singer grinned as little Serena walked in her direction. Luckily, her parent's backs were turned. "Hi, Rena, you remember me?" Serena looked up at the woman standing in front of her. "No, I don't think so," she replied, glancing back at her parents. "I got to get back." "Please don't," Singer said, grabbing her hand. "We can be good friends, you know." "Let go of me or I'll scream!" Singer laughed, pulling Serena close to her and covering the little girl's mouth. "I'd love to see you try." She half carried, half dragged Serena to her car. Serena was able to bite Singer's hand. "You brat!" "DADDY!!" Serena cried, squirming out of Singer's grasp. Harm turned around to see her struggling in someone's arms. "Rena!" he exclaimed, rushing over to her. "Let her go!" Mac and Evelyn watched in horror as the woman threw something at Harm. Mac recognized it immediately. "Harm stop!" "Rena!" Harm said again, ignoring Mac. He was focused on one thing at the moment: Getting his daughter back safely. "Happy trails, Commander!" The woman tossed Serena into the car, and jumped in, speeding off. Harm stopped in his tracks and stared at the space the car had just occupied. "God no..." The shockwave from the small time bomb, knocked him to the ground. "Harm!" Mac cried. "Evie, stay with your sisters." "Okay, Mommy," Evelyn replied, trying not to cry. She needed to be strong for her sisters. Mac knelt next to Harm, who was coming to. She helped in sit up. "Are you okay, Harm?" "I'll be fine," he replied. He attempted to stand up, but nearly fell over. The pain in his head wasn't relenting any time soon. "Mac, I'm sorry... I couldn't..." "It's not your fault, Harm. We'll get her back," she told him. Police cars and an ambulance pulled up around them. "We need to get you checked out. You focus on getting better, okay?" "But..." "No, 'buts', Harm. You get into that ambulance and I'll meet you at the hospital with Evie, Christiana, and Trisha." Harm shook his head, ignoring the dizziness. "We have to find out who that woman was!" "Sir, calm down!" Harm was about to fall flat on his face, but the EMT caught him. "Is he always like this?" he asked Mac. "Unfortunately, yes." |
