Timeline: Between "Undercover" and "Thank God For Small Miracles". Ages: Evie, 7, Rena, 4, twins, 2 Dedication: This is dedicated to Trevor Goddard and his children. ************** "Mommy, where's Daddy?" Mac looked up at Evelyn from the file she was reading. "He's outside cutting the grass." She grinned and climbed onto the sofa next to her mother. "I got an idea for Father's Day." "Really?" Mac asked, smiling. "What's that?" "We could take Daddy to visit one of those boats he used to fly off. What are they called?" "Aircraft carrier." Evelyn nodded excitedly. "Besides Rena and the twins never got to see one. I think Daddy would like it." "It's a great idea, Evie," Mac replied. "Your Daddy hasn't been one in a long time. I'll talk to Uncle AJ and see if he can help us out." Evelyn giggled and hugged Mac. "I'm going to tell the girls." "Make sure they don't tell your father," Mac shouted after her. She smiled. This was going to be a great Father's Day. Now, she just had to make it happen. ************ Harm had just finished making breakfast when his girls came into the kitchen. "Harm, why are you cooking?" "Because I don't want to eat yours." Mac glared at him. "Just be glad it's Father's Day or I would have kicked your rear." "Happy Father's Day!" Serena exclaimed, giving Harm a hug. "We got a surprise for you!" Evelyn nodded, hugging him as well. "That's right!" "Are you going to tell me?" Mac smiled. "It wouldn't be a surprise if we did," she said, helping Christiana and Trisha toddle over to him. Harm nodded. "What do you say we eat and then get going?" "Great idea," Mac replied. ************* Harm glanced over at his wife as she pulled off the Norfolk exit. He still had no idea what they were planning and all attempts to get it out of them weren't working. "There, Daddy!" Trisha shouted, clapping her hands. "The Seahawk? What's she doing in port?" Mac smiled. "Repairs. AJ pulled a few strings so we could visit. He may be retired, but people still owe him favors." "I haven't been aboard a carrier in, I don't know how long." "3 years, Daddy," Evelyn told him. "We came on my birthday." Harm nodded. "That's right, Evie." "Can you take us flying?" Serena asked. "I wish I could, honey, but you're too little," Harm replied as Mac pulled to a stop. He grinned from ear to ear. "But I'm sure the Captain will let you sit in one of the cockpits." The girls squealed and jumped out of the car. "Harm met them outside. "We love you, Daddy!" Christiana said. "And I love each of you very much," Harm said, giving them a kiss. "Now, who's ready?" Mac laughed as they all shouted. Harm looked like a little kid himself. Yes, her life was great. "Hey, wait for me!" she cried out, rushing after them. |
