Summary: Evie, Rena, and Mac are presumed dead and Harm doesn't believe it.

Evelyn Rose Rabb waited impatiently for her daddy to pick her up from kindergarten. She loved her daddy and mommy and always missed them when they dropped her off in the mornings. Hearing a horn beep, she looked up and smiled.

The car pulled up to the curb and Harm stepped out. She immediately ran over to him. "Daddy!"

"Hey, Pumpkin! How was school today?" Harm asked, sweeping her up in his arms.

"Great! We had a drawing contest and I won!"

Harm smiled. "Congratulations! We'll have to celebrate when mommy gets home from work." He opened the back door and buckled her into her seat. "What would like for dinner?"

"Hmm..." Evelyn thought. "How about your famous veggie lasagna!"

"All right, but we'll have to think of something else for your mommy. You know she won't even touch vegetables!" Harm said with a laugh. Evelyn joined him. "Come on, we've gotta pick up your little sister from day care!"

Sarah MacKenzie was just about to leave work when Tiner came up to her. "Colonel, you have a call on line 3."

"Thank you, Tiner," Mac replied, picking up the phone. "Colonel MacKenzie speaking." The only thing she heard was heavy breathing. "Hello?"

"You'd better keep an eye on your daughters, Colonel!"

Mac's heart skipped a beat. "Who is this!" she demanded. The person on the other line, hung up. She stood silent for five minutes, holding the phone.

"Colonel MacKenzie?" Harriet said, "Are you all right?"

"What?" Mac replied. She hung up the phone with shaky hands.

"Ma'am? Your face is pale. What happened?"

Tears formed in Mac's eyes. "Oh my God, Harriet, someone just threatened my children's lives!"

"Are you sure?" Harriet asked.

"Of course I'm sure, Harriet!" Mac snapped. She looked at her friend and shook her head. "I'm sorry..."

"No, it's all right, Ma'am. Let me go get the Admiral."

As soon as Harriet ran off, Mac sank into a chair. Who would threaten two little girls? This had to have something to do with one of Harm or her cases. She debated whether or not to call her husband or just wait until she got home. Mac chose the latter since the Admiral came up to her.

"Mac, have you had the call traced yet?"

"No," came the quiet reply.

Chegwidden nodded. "Okay, lets take this one step at a time. Lieutenant Sims, get the Colonel a glass of water. Tiner, get to tracing that call!"

"Aye, sir!" The two officers replied.

The phone rang again, causing Mac to jump in her seat. She was about to answer it when the Admiral reached for it. "JAG Headquarters, Admiral Chegwidden speaking."

"Uncle AJ!"

"Oh, Evelyn! Hello, sweetheart."

"How are you?" The 5 year old asked excitedly.

Chegwidden had to smile. "I'm pretty good, yourself?"

"Great! Daddy's making veggie lasagna for me!" She paused a minute. When she spoke again, she lowered her voice. "He's making mommy a huge hamburger with all the trimmings, but don't tell her! It's gonna be a surprise!"

"I won't, I promise," the Admiral said with a laugh. He looked over at Mac, who was anxious to talk to her little girl. "Your Mommy's right here, you want to talk to her?"

"Yes! Yes! Yes!" Evelyn exclaimed.

Mac sighed in relief. "Hello, baby girl."

"Hi, Mommy. Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, Evie," Mac replied. "Did you pick Serena up from the day care?"

"We just got back."

"Okay, honey. Tell daddy I'll be home in about 20 minutes." She paused. "And he better be making me something good for dinner!"

"Oh he is, mommy! He's making veggie lasagna! Bye!"  With that, Evelyn hung up.

"They're trying to trick me again."

"Colonel?"

"Oh, I'm sorry, sir. I was just thinking out loud."

"No need to apologize, Mac.

Mac stood up and grabbed her coat. "I'm going to hurry home to see my girls, sir."

The Admiral nodded. "Let me know if there's anything I can do."

"I will, and thank you, Sir."
